Apple cosy

Vorige week was ik jarig. En niet alleen ik, ook onze oudste dochter. Ze is 11 jaar geleden geboren op mijn verjaardag. Ze zit in groep 8, dus dat betekent de laatste keer trakteren op de basisschool.
Samen haakten we appeljasjes en bakten appelflappen.

Last week it was my birthday. And not only my birthday, but also the birthday of our eldest daughter, who was born on my day eleven years ago.
She is in class 8, which means the last time treating at school.
We made this crochet apple cosies and baked apple cakes.

Het idee komt uit de Mollie makes, aangepast aan de grootte van de appel.

The idea comes from Mollie makes and has been adapted to the size of the apple.

Poncho - crochet with flowers

Voor onze jongste dochter haakte ik deze poncho.

Het idee komt hier vandaan.

Crochet for beginners

Sinds ik workshops haken geef, 

en dat is nu zo'n twee jaar,

is de workshop 'haken voor beginners'

al heel wat keren voorbij gekomen

De vriendinnen die vorige week kwamen leren haken

hadden talent, enorm talent,

en werkten hard en geconcentreerd

met als resultaat dat zij:

- alle basissteken beheersen

- een eenvoudig symbolenpatroon kunnen lezen

-een bloempje met laagjes kunnen haken

ze mogen dan ook echt trots zijn op het resultaat!

Two years ago I started giving workshops crochet.

has been given many times since then

The friends who participated on the workshop last week

were talented, very talented

they worked hard and were focussed

the result:

- they are able to crochet all basic stitches

- they know how to read a pattern with symbols

they can crochet a triple layer flower

they can be very proud of the result!

Crochet with children

Woensdagmiddag was de eerste workshop 'haken voor moeder & kind'. Zeven moeders en acht kinderen, waaronder 1 jongen, kwamen leren haken. Sommigen konden het al een beetje en hadden thuis geoefend. Anderen deden het voor het eerst.

On Wednesday afternoon there was the workshop 'crochet for mother and child". Seven mothers and eight children (among who one boy) visited the workshop to learn how to crochet. Some of them already were able to crochet a little bit and had practised at home. For some others it was the first time.

Het was een geslaagde middag met mooie haak-resultaten. Ik leerde het jongetje (8 jaar) patroon lezen, hij haakte het lijf van een hondje.

It was a successful afternoon with very nice crochet results. I taught the boy (8 years old) how to read a pattern. He made the body of a little dog.

De volgende workshop 'haken voor moeder en kind' wordt gehouden op woensdagmiddag 13 november 2013.

Embroidery wreath

Deze borduurkrans maakte ik vandaag op bestelling voor de jarige Netty.
Zij en haar collega's volgden vorige week voor een andere jarige collega een haakworkshop met high-tea bij Lavendel & Papaver.
Netty is dol op borduren en wil graag dit huisje uit het boek Liefdevol maken.

Today I made this embroidery wreath on order for the birthday of Netty. She and her collegues were guests at a workshop crochet & high-tea last week.
Netty loves to do embroidery and she likes to make this house herself. The pattern can be found in the book Liefdevol.

Inmiddels heeft de jarige haar cadeautje gekregen en ontving ik het bericht dat ze er erg blij mee is.

The present was given to Netty this afternoon and I received the message that she is very happy with this present.
